1. Lead Engineer – UAV Configuration Design

We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer for the development of advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), focusing on configuration design, flight dynamics, stability & control and Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC) systems.

Position: Lead Engineer
Experience: Minimum – 6 years in relevant field
Employment Type: Full Time
Place of Work: Chandigarh, India
Industry: Aerospace & Defence
Education: Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or related disciplines.
Preferred Experience: Fixed-wing UAVs, high-speed UAV platforms, autonomous systems, flight testing and Defence & Aerospace programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead UAV configuration design, aerodynamic studies and system optimization.
  • Perform longitudinal, lateral and directional stability & control analysis.
  • Develop and validate 3-DOF/6-DOF flight dynamics models.
  • Design and optimize GNC algorithms for autonomous flight systems.
  • Develop flight control laws using PID, State Space, Adaptive and robust control methods.
  • Work on trajectory shaping, terminal guidance, target engagement and autonomous mission planning.
  • Integrate navigation sensors, sensor fusion and state estimation techniques.
  • Support HIL/SIL simulations, prototype integration and flight testing.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including avionics, propulsion, structures and embedded systems.
  • Mentor engineering teams and support technical decision-making.

2. Software Engineer — Flight Control / Estimation Engineer (~3 years)

Position: Engineer  

Experience: Minimum – 3 years in relevant field

Employment Type: Full Time

Place of Work: Chandigarh, India

Industry: Aerospace & Defence

Educational Qualification: B.Tech. in Computer Science / Electronics & Communication or equivalent M.Tech. in relevant discipline preferred 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Proficient in C++, C, embedded firmware development.
  • Basic exposure in application development in C++, Python, Matlab, database, networking etc.
  • Good knowledge on embedded HW: Controllers, microprocessors, microcontrollers, electronics.
  • Knowledge on autonomous systems & robotics, safety-critical / mission-critical systems.
  • Own VTOL MC and fixed-wing mathematical models, flight-control implementation, tuning and performance optimization under the guidance of domain expert.
  • Exposure in Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) algorithm understanding and development
  • Proficiency in control algorithm development – PID, LQR, SFL, Sliding Mode, Optimal Control etc.
  • Develop and customize open-source autopilot modules – VTOL MC & fixed-wing controllers, Control Allocation and relevant actuator interfaces.
  • Implement and validate controller algorithms, feed-forward paths, limits, anti-windup, saturation handling and required control-law modifications.
  • Support extended Kalman filter configuration/customization, sensor integration, estimator performance analysis and correlation against MATLAB/Simulink reference models.
  • Perform controller tuning and system identification using SITL/HITL logs and progressively support hardware flight testing.
  • Customization/implementation of code related to logging / diagnostics, fault monitoring, emergency management etc.
  • Maintain unit/integration tests for control modules and document controller parameters, assumptions, interfaces and performance results.
  • Documentation of design / integration / test cases/ test reports documents.
  • Preparation of technical solution proposals for RFIs & RFPs, continuous learning.

3.  Software Lead Engineer — Embedded Systems

Position: Lead Engineer
Experience: Minimum – 6 years in relevant field
Employment Type: Full Time
Place of Work: Chandigarh, India
Industry: Aerospace & Defence
Educational Qualification: B.Tech. in Computer Science / Electronics & Communication or equivalent M.Tech. in relevant discipline preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expert in C++, C, embedded firmware development.
  • Good exposure in application development in C++, Python, Matlab, database, networking, webservice etc.
  • Good knowledge on embedded HW: Controllers, microprocessors, microcontrollers & electronics.
  • Moderate knowledge & exposure on mission control of autonomous systems & robotics.
  • Good knowledge on software development on safety-critical / mission-critical systems.
  • Exposure in Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) algorithm understanding and development
  • Own the overall autopilot software architecture, technical decomposition, coding standards, Git workflow, branch strategy, CI/CD and release process.
  • Own architecture-level modifications involving uORB, Commander/Flight Mode Manager, VTOL state management, Control Allocation, parameters and inter-module interfaces.
  • Customize Navigator, Commander/flight modes, MAVLink interfaces, parameters, events, logging and required QGroundControl integration.
  • Lead integration of the customized multicopter VTOL stack on the COTS flight controller (e.g., Cube Orange), including board configuration, NuttX, drivers, startup configuration and firmware packaging.
  • Review and approve code from software engineers; enforce modularity, real-time constraints, memory/CPU limits, error handling and maintainability.
  • Lead SITL/HITL integration, defect triage, regression testing and release qualification; maintain traceability between requirements, implementation and verification.
  • Work closely with the domain expert to translate Autopilot core functionalities, GNC requirements, simulation etc. into robust open-source software architecture.
  • Documentation of design / integration / test cases/ test reports documents.
  • Preparation of technical solution proposals for RFIs & RFPs, continuous learning, mentoring & project monitoring.
